that's wonderful. This picture is so old it even predates my existence in Painesville! Although I do remember that "City Hall" sign--or one just like it. Upon careful inspection I noticed the blur of two figures, women, on the left and one on the right. And how come buildings don't have ivy on them anymore? Though as I recall, there was an anti-ivy push many years ago, something about how it bores into the mortar and corrodes the building. How cares? It looks cool! It would be great we could find more photos of P'ville by this photographer during this era. Imagine, a bustling downtown with dozens of stores and crowded with shoppers (something still around to a certain extent in the early 60's)--what will they think of next?
